Experience Copenhagen the way the locals do. The Local lounge is inspired by the best of Danish design and sustainable materials. Using upcycled wood, concrete and glass a rough but cosy space was created to house pop-ups from the likes of Brus, Cofoco, HBO Nordic and local Danish artists. The static logo has a joint K and C, and the digital logo is animated to interchange endlessly. The typeface Lars showcases the Danish design tradition.
Two different layouts of the space were suggested, one furnished by Muuto and Frama, the other by Hay with custom-cast concrete benches. Both accommodating roughly 150 people, on two floors. The space is full of little experiences, like a curated set of publications, audio stories from locals in headphones, tap takeovers at the bar, travel guides to popular destinations written by famous locals etc. Local also has its own magazine and its own podcast.
